It's almost spring time in Pittsburgh! Time to start thinking about sunshine, outdoor activities, and saying goodbye to the chill of long winter days. Do you have a son or daughter that is going to be a senior in the fall? If so, now is the PERFECT time to start planning senior photos!! I know it seems crazy that time flies by so fast. Wasn't it just yesterday that they brought their kindergarten pictures home in that envelope and you proudly displayed them on the wall? At the same time thinking, "how did the years go by so fast that he is already in kindergarten"? The years DO go by fast and I want you to have memories that you can cherish forever. I want you to have a canvas that is hung on your wall that you look at every day after your senior graduates. I want you to be able to flip through an album with your future grandchildren as they giggle about the time their mom or dad was "little".

I had such an amazing season with seniors last year that I want to focus on some of my favorite locations for those photos. When you book with me, we have a pre-session consult over the phone where we discuss your child's interests and activities, sports, and what they like to do for fun. Then we talk about what locations will best suit your child's personality.

I want to develop a positive relationship and have a level of connection with your child so that they feel comfortable in front of the camera. We laugh, we joke and make them fall in LOVE with their session! The list below is not all inclusive but are absolutely some of my top favorites!

North Park

North Park is beautiful because there is SO much variety. Marshall Island offers the lake, beautiful trees, and in the fall, the reflection of the crisp colors in the water. North Park also offers flower beds, fields and unique landmarks that give the photos a fun "pop." It's perfect for guys and girls that love the outdoors.

Hartwood Acres

Hartwood Acres has a beauty all it's own. It will be re-opening in April 2022 (due to construction) and photo ready for summer! From the mansion, to the cobblestone paths, to the gated flower garden with butterflies flitting about, it offers a sense of wonder and a quiet escape when visited at just the right time.

Fall Run Park

Fall Run Park is for an adventure session. We will make the (almost) mile walk through the forest path to the beautiful waterfall. The sounds of the birds and the sun peeking through the trees illuminating the stream make it a truly magical adventure. And the added bonus is being able to jump and play and re-live childhood moments along the way. The best times to visit are fall, summer (and even winter!) I will absolutely venture out in the cold to catch a glimpse of that gorgeous frozen waterfall and the icicles along the way!

Mellon Park

Nestled in the heart of Shadyside, near Phipps Conservatory is a beautiful park with so many features. The fountain, the gardens and the pathways through the greens will take you out of the busy city for a moment in time. We will fill our time wandering around, enjoying the beauty and capturing smiles as we go. The variety of beautiful flowers is amazing and around each corner is something new and exciting.

Downtown, North Shore and Oakland

If you're child loves the urban atmosphere, you absolutely can't go wrong with the downtown and surrounding areas of our beautiful city! My favorite spots are Market Square, Oakland and North Shore. Let me break it down a bit...

Market Square offers the hustle and bustle of urban life. We can get the picturesque mirrors of the PPG buildings while taking in the beauty of the city. We can stand among the buildings and surround ourselves with architecture of those buildings that have stood for so long, making Pittsburgh what it is today. And then, what about heading over to one of the iconic bridges?

We can continue our adventure over on the North Shore. I have the perfect spot to get the Pittsburgh skyline in the background without any distractions. Your child, surrounded by the city they live in will be the perfect memory for them to take with them if working or going to school away from home.

Lastly, if the University of Pittsburgh is in the plans (or you just LOVE cool architecture), then Oakland is the place for you! The aesthetics of the buildings and the variety of photos we can get are endless!

These are just a few of the many options that Pittsburgh has to offer. Maybe you already have an idea that comes to mind- let me know during our consultation, I LOVE seeing new places! What I really strive for is making senior photos a unique experience that offers your senior a VERY special day. The session may only last an hour or so, but the memories will last a lifetime!!
